Some older VIZIO remotes use codes similar to DirecTV's 5-digit codes (e.g., VUR8, VUR5), others use a different variant of 5-digit codes (e.g., VUR9M) or 3-digit codes (e.g., VUR9). The codes used by most newer VIZIO remote controls (e.g., XRU300, XRU110, XRU100, XRU9M) are very similar to GE's 4-digit V1 codes. Press the "POWER" button to test the code.

If the code is accepted, the LED will flash twice. To set up an older remote such as the XRU100, VUR9M, XRU9M, VUR9, VUR8, VUR5 or VUR2, press the "TV", "DVD" or other device button once, then press and hold the "SET" button until the LED flashes twice. Try other codes that may include more functionality. Sometimes a working code will only include limited functions. If the codes do not work, or your brand is not listed, try the search function.
If your TV (or device) does not respond, try all the codes for your brand. Step 3: Point the remote control at your device and press the "POWER" button.
